I finish the afternoon milking, wash up, drive in and the lamp's already lit on Bair Street. You don't realise how much that matters until you've had a long day.
Getting here
Four ways to find the door
Coming in on the South Gippsland Highway, follow the signs into the centre of Leongatha and turn into Bair Street at the main intersection. The building is stone at the bottom and timber on top, with a lamp over the door, and you'll see it before you see the number. Angled parking runs along the whole front of the building.
If you're walking from the shops, it's about five minutes along level footpaths, and the street is well lit after dark. We keep an umbrella stand by the door for wet evenings, and in a Gippsland winter you'll be glad of it. Vanessa will happily walk you back to your car if you'd like company.
Coming from the farm? Allow a few extra minutes after dark, when wildlife is on the move along the back roads. If you're running late from milking or a meeting, ring and we'll hold the table a little longer. Nobody here has ever minded a boot-print on the mat.
Wheelchair or pram? The ramp at the front door is gentle, the dining room is all on one level and the card room is through a wide doorway with no step. If you'd like a table that's easy to reach, tell Vanessa when you book, and she'll set the chairs so there's room to move without squeezing past anybody.
Taxi or lift? Ask for the lamp on Bair Street. If you need a cab home, tell the front desk and Vanessa will ring one, and you can wait in the hall with a cup of tea. We'd rather you got home safely than finished your coffee in a hurry.

Where Bair Street runs
We're in the heart of town, a short walk from the shops and the main intersection. The car park is round the side, off the lane, and the front door has a ramp at the left-hand end of the building. The map shows the street entrance, and the lamp is easy to spot.
